Studio Dress Code

Dress Code Policy

To ensure safety, proper technique, and freedom of movement, all students are required to follow our class-specific dress code guidelines below.

Acro Requirements

Acro

  • Required Attire: Form-fitting dance attire (e.g., leotards, form-fitting t-shirts, jazz pants, leggings, or modest-length spandex shorts).
  • Footwear: Bare feet.
  • Hair & Accessories: Hair pulled back securely away from the face. No jewelry permitted.

Classical & Technique

BALLET & POINTE

  • Required Attire: Pink or black leotard. Pink, black, tan, or white ballet skirt/tutu, or modest-length jazz shorts. Pink, white, or tan ballet tights (Note: Please wear footless tights for Fundamentals).
  • Footwear: Pink or tan ballet slippers (Pointe shoes required for Pointe class).
  • Hair & Accessories: Hair styled in a ballet bun or ponytail. Short hair must be secured away from the face.
  • Optional/Seasonal: Pink, black, white, tan, or grey ballet sweaters and leg warmers may be worn during colder months.

Urban & Street Style

HIP HOP

  • Required Attire: Loose, comfortable clothing that allows full range of motion (e.g., tank tops, dance tops, t-shirts, sweatpants, dance pants, athletic shorts).
  • Footwear: Clean, "indoor-only" tennis shoes (must not be worn outside or for everyday use to protect studio flooring).
  • Hair & Accessories: Hair pulled back securely away from the face.

Rhythm & Energy

JAZZ 1 & 2

  • Required Attire: Fitted dance attire. Tops: tank tops, dance tops, or fitted t-shirts. Bottoms: modest-length jazz shorts, capri-length leggings, or leotards (any color) with jazz tights.
  • Footwear: Black or tan jazz shoes (no socks).
  • Hair & Accessories: Hair pulled back securely away from the face.

Percussive Movement

TAP

  • Required Attire: Fitted dance attire. Tops: tank tops, dance tops, or fitted t-shirts. Bottoms: capri-length leggings, modest jazz shorts, leotards (any color), or dance pants that do not drag on the floor or cover shoes. Tights are optional.
  • Footwear: Black lace-up oxford tap shoes.
  • Hair & Accessories: Hair pulled back securely away from the face.

Expression & Flow

LYRICAL & CONTEMPORARY

  • Required Attire: Fitted dance attire. Tops: tank tops, dance tops, or fitted t-shirts. Bottoms: capri-length leggings, leotards (any color), or modest-length jazz shorts paired with tan ballet tights.
  • Footwear: Dance paws, half-sole shoes, or bare feet with footless ballet tights.
  • Hair & Accessories: Hair pulled back securely away from the face.
